Tale of Two Sisters - MP3
On a December night a 911 call was placed, a woman stopped at a red light, in a black Prius was slumped over at the wheel. That woman was my 56 year old sister, Linda. Once again an early morning phone call caused a heart-wrenching pain to ravage through my body. Linda who endearingly calls me Garbanzo Bean, and who in I in return call LintySock, was given CPR and brought back to life, but did not regain consciousness.
For eight days family stood vigil, praying for a miracle. Though the doctors said there was zero chance of recovery—I remained not in denial—but believing God was more than able to heal my sister. Ten days later LintySock went to be with Jesus. With all my heart I wanted God to restore her, heal her and bring her back to us. His answer was "I want her with Me".
Linda loved me like no other. Linda made me laugh harder than any other. Linda was my greatest fan!
At the time of LintySock’s death, she and Garbanzo Bean were estranged. . . She is with Jesus now; I however, am left to work through regret and once again allow God to take a tragedy, and this time the ugliness of dysfunction, and make something beautiful out of it. And He has done just that with the message the Tale of Two Sisters, Dysfunction, Regret & Reconciliation
Countess times I have heard and even said myself “my family is SO dysfunctional!” It’s spoken as a cavalier overall description of a seemingly hopeless situation. It’s like the minute we use the word dysfunction everybody gets it! Say no more! No further explanation needed! Why is that? Because sadly that is how much dysfunction there is in our families today. This message addresses what many families experience, but most don’t admit. It points out the faults of all involved and delivers the hope we have in Scripture to heal when you think it’s too late and to reconcile when you think there is no hope!
