This video tells the amazing story about the forming of an unlikely sisterhood on the little island of Barbuda. Unfortunately after nine months, they are still struggling to put their lives back together after being torn apart by Hurricane Irma. A brave group of women from seven different churches crossed all denominational lines and came together to attend our BFM Women’s Conference. The healing work Jesus did among the women was so beautiful to watch, as we listened to heart-wrenching stories from mothers and grandmothers of what it was like to live through hurricane Irma on that terrifying night. The fear described that filled each child, parent and grandparent as they looked at each other for reassurance that they wouldn’t die, was unimaginable. I knew the Lord was at work at this conference, but I certainly didn't see what was about to happen. Irma should have brought the people of Barbuda together but instead they became more divided. Neighbors were not being neighborly, churches weren’t helping churches, and those with cars didn't stop to give a ride. But that was all about to change . . .
