In this video devotion from my Series of Favorite Scriptures, I focus on Psalm 37:3-4 "Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." What does it mean to delight yourself in the Lord? After doing a word study, I found that the Biblical definition of the word delight is to be soft and pliable. Just like the scripture in Isaiah 64:8 that says "we are the clay, You are the Potter" or as I quote it “You are the Potter and we are the clay.” So to delight ourselves in the Lord means to become clay in the Master's Hand. And when we do this, our will is conformed into the likeness of God's will and then whatever we ask in accordance with His will, it shall be done. Just as it says in 1st John 5:14 "This is the confidence we have in approaching God, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us."
I hope you "delight" in this devotion and learn the importance of defining words, because in doing so the scriptures come alive!
